The Pittsburgh Steelers Win Super Bowl XLIII

santonio holmes above: super bowl 43 mvp santonio holmes who had a great game and even better final drive.

the pittsburgh steelers beat the arizona cardinals 27 – 23 in tampa bay to win super bowl 43. it was a good game, and thats what i wanted, the game didn’t look too interesting at halftime, but the cardinals came back to take it to the wire. the holding call on the steelers in the end zone causing a safety was crucial. the steelers would have had a first down after a 20 yard completion and instead had to punt the ball to arizona. warner came out after that and threw a strike to larry fitzgerald who ran the ball in for a 65 yard touchdown giving the cardinals a 23-20 lead with 2:30 left in the game.

the steelers then drove the ball down the field trying to at least get into field goal range. ben roethlisberger connected with santonio holmes for a huge first down getting the ball inside the 10 yard line. then on second and goal roethlisberger found holmes again, this time in the corner of the end zone to take the lead 27-23 with 35 seconds remaining in the game. the cardinals looked like they might have a chance to score, but with 10 seconds left kurt warner fumbled the ball and the steelers recovered to secure the win, their record setting 6th super bowl win, most super bowl wins for any franchise in the nfl. both teams played hard and i enjoyed watching the game. with all that said, congratulations to them, but gotham green online is a giants fan so our season ended 3 weeks ago.

on a side note: i thought the commercials this year were not good. i can not remember a worse year for super bowl commercials. imo.
